A Hands 4Life team with children at a school

What this trip is

More than a mission trip.

This is not a sightseeing trip. Hands 4Life's work in Kenya is locally led. Pastor Yusuf and the Kenya team choose the projects, and your team serves under their direction.

Teams support work that is already happening: outreach, practical projects, church and Gospel ministry, education and time with children and elders together. No previous mission trip experience is needed. Come ready to serve, learn, laugh and work hard.

What a team is designed to leave behind

  • Projects the Kenya team asked for, finished
  • New sponsors and partners for the children and elders we serve
  • Friends who keep backing local leaders after the trip ends

Many people come home seeing the world, their faith and their own life a little differently.

Rough itinerary

A working trip, with room to experience Kenya.

This is a rough outline. The Hands 4Life schedule shifts with local needs, weather, transport and ministry opportunities.

  1. Arrive in Kenya

Meet the team, get a safety and cultural briefing, and travel to Homa Bay County.

  2. Meet the community

Spend time with the orphaned children and lonely elders Hands 4Life serves, and with the local leaders who work alongside them.

  3. Community outreach

Practical help and direct support, focused on needs the local team has identified.

  4. Church & leadership

Worship with Generations of Wisdom Church, join pastor and leader training and discipleship, and take part in Gospel outreach with tools from Cru, Evangelism Explosion and the JESUS Film Project.

  5. Practical work

A hands-on project, such as a home improvement or work on the planned campus site.

  6. A day for generations

Children and elders together as one family: activities, conversation, learning and worship.

  7. See more of Kenya

A safari in search of the Big Five in the Maasai Mara, and time with the Maasai learning about daily life, traditions, music and dance.

  8. Return home

Go home with a clear understanding of the people, the work and how to stay involved.

Hands 4Life serves everyone, regardless of faith.

Four ways to be part of it

Everyone can help. Not everyone can go.

Every Hands 4Life team is sent by people at home as much as by the people who travel.
