Privacy
What we collect, and what we do not.
Short version: we collect what you type into a form. We do not track you around the internet. We never see your card number.
What we collect
If you fill in a form on this site, we keep your name, your email address, and anything else you chose to type: a phone number, a church or organisation, and your message. We also record which page you sent it from.
If you give, our payment partner sends us your name, your email address, the amount, the date and which fund you chose. We keep that so we can send you a receipt and tell you what your gift did.
That is the whole list. We do not buy data about you from anyone else.
What we never see
Your card number, your bank details and your security code never reach us. Payments are handled by Givebutter, and they hold that information under their own privacy policy. We could not give your card number away if we wanted to, because we do not have it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no tracking pixels. There is no Facebook pixel and no advertising network on any page.
If you close the giving bar at the bottom of a page, we store a single note in your own browser so it stays closed for that visit. It never leaves your device and it disappears when you close the tab.
When you follow a link to Givebutter to give, you are on their site and their cookie policy applies from that point.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to another charity for their mailing list. Ever.
We use a small number of companies to run the charity, and they only see what they need to do their job: Givebutter to take payments, an email service to send receipts and updates, and Cloudflare to host this site and store our records.
We will hand over information if the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.
Emails from us
If you give or ask us to, we will email you receipts and updates. Every one has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. You can also reply and say stop, and we will do it by hand.
Receipts are the one exception. If you give, we have to send you a record of it, because you may need it for your taxes.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
We also do not publish a photograph or the name of a child we serve without a signed release from the person responsible for them.
How long we keep it
Giving records are kept for at least seven years, because tax law requires it. Form messages are kept while they are useful and deleted when they are not.
Asking us to delete it
Write to info@h4lworld.org and ask. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it, except where tax law makes us keep a giving record.
You do not have to give a reason and we will not ask for one.
If any of this changes
If we add an analytics tool, a new payment partner or anything else that touches your information, we change this page on the same day. The date at the bottom tells you when it last moved.
